Gateway简介

Gateway, founded in 1985 in a Midwest farmhouse, has grown into one of the world's renowned technology brands, with millions of satisfied customers. The company's founder, Ted Waitt, started with a $10,000 loan guaranteed by his grandmother, a leased computer, and a three-page business plan, developing Gateway into a revolutionary company. Its innovations have transformed the technology industry.

In 1991, the company, originally named Gateway 2000, introduced a unique cow-spotted box logo that reflected its ranch origins, gaining nationwide consumer recognition. In 1993, it entered the Fortune 500 and listed on NASDAQ, subsequently moving to the New York Stock Exchange in 1997. The following year, Gateway relocated its headquarters from North Sioux City, South Dakota, to Southern California.

In March 2004, Gateway acquired eMachines, one of the world's fastest-growing and most efficient PC manufacturers. The eMachines brand offered professional technical support and quality at a low price. In October 2007, Gateway was acquired by Taiwan-based Acer Inc., and the combined entity has since become the world's third-largest PC company.

Gateway's branded products have entered markets in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, China, and an increasing number of Asia-Pacific regions through major retailers, e-retailers, and channel partners. Gateway remains focused on ensuring that customers experience convenience and ease in purchasing, owning, and using PCs. As Gateway moves into new markets, the company continues to adhere to its initial goal: enhancing people's quality of life through technology.
